Schedule

Seasonal full-time, day shift. Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment associated with the barge unloading process, including drags and conveyors. While working on the barge, use a ladder to climb walls that reach a height of approximately 6 feet.
  • Operate computer programs needed to load/unload barges, trucks, and skid steer.
  • Handwrite tickets or use Stand Alone Scale Interface (SASI) if the computer network goes down.
  • Operate equipment associated with the Elevator process, including drags, conveyors, and truck dump. Load meal, oil, and hull products into barges and trucks.
  • Ensure accurate information of scale weights and transactions are recorded daily.
  • Process samples utilizing lab equipment to obtain and record values on a computer spreadsheet; collect and analyze samples for several process areas.
  • Enter confined spaces under proper permit conditions and supervision, including dust collectors, barges, and bean tanks.
  • Perform light maintenance, such as replacing valves, troubleshooting conveyors and pumps, etc., while safely using wrenches, air tools, hammers, and various hand tools.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere with a high regard for the environmental impact of the operation.
  • Understand and adhere to state and federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations as related to plant safety. Follow all Cargill safety rules and regulations.
  • Complete all housekeeping assignments, work to improve the condition of all departments, and work as a team member with a positive attitude.
  • Attend various mandatory safety and department meetings.
  • Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved.
  • Assist other crush and plant personnel as needed, and perform any other duty as requested by the production supervisor.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50+ lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
  • Must be able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment.

Qualifications

  • Forklift certified.
  • Prior experience in production-related work.
