Seasonal Bakery Team Member

About the role

The Fresh Market's mission is to make everyday eating extraordinary for our guests. We are looking for seasonal team members to work across multiple departments — Grocery, Guest Service (Front End), Early Morning Production, Produce, and counter support in Deli, Bakery, or Meat & Seafood — creating a warm, welcoming experience with exceptional personal service.

Responsibilities

• Consistently provide excellent guest service by engaging with guests to learn their wants and needs and help them create meal solutions
• Maintain knowledge of products and weekly ad items throughout the store and work across departments to assist guests
• Safely handle food products for sampling to guests
• Create a hospitable shopping experience by merchandising and stocking products and specialty items throughout the day while assisting nearby guests
• Properly weigh and scan product, handle cash, and provide change where appropriate
• Gather shopping carts from the parking lot and assist in general housekeeping duties throughout the store
• Slice and prepare a variety of the department's meat, cheeses, and convenient meal solutions throughout the day while maintaining quality product levels
• Present self in a professional manner, including adhering to uniform standards

Schedule

This is a seasonal, temporary role designed to support stores during key business periods. Employment may conclude at the end of the seasonal business period. The position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Requirements

• A passion for providing extraordinary service
• At least 16 years of age (at least 18 years of age for Deli, Bakery, and Produce departments)

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in the retail, restaurant, or hospitality industries
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical requirements

• Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching; ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently; exposure to extreme temperatures
• Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, step stools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment (unless under age 18)
• Required to spend long periods on feet and stand or walk without a break (up to 4 hours or as required by law)
• Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment
