Seasonal Bakery Prep & Production Assistant
About the role
Location: Daisy Cakes, Pauline, SC. This position is ideal for someone with professional kitchen experience who enjoys hands-on work, staying organized, and being part of a fast-paced bakery environment. There may be an option to join the team permanently after the holiday season. Daisy Cakes is a from-scratch bakery based in Pauline, South Carolina. We produce and ship our cakes and other desserts to customers throughout the country. Our production team takes pride in making quality products while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient bakery environment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, stays busy without being constantly directed, and notices what needs to be done. The right person will be organized, dependable, efficient, and willing to jump between different tasks throughout the day. This is not a traditional line-cook position. The role supports the overall bakery operation, including ingredient preparation, production assistance, organization, sanitation, inventory, packaging, and general bakery support.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients for daily cake and bakery production
- Measure, weigh, chop, mix, and otherwise prepare ingredients according to established recipes and procedures
- Assist bakers and production staff with cake and icing production
- Organize and maintain the walk-in freezer, refrigerators, and dry storage areas
- Receive, put away, rotate, and organize ingredients and supplies
- Monitor inventory and communicate when ingredients or supplies are running low
- Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the production day
- Wash and sanitize equipment, utensils, work surfaces, containers, and other kitchen items
