Seasonal Assistant Manager (Outer Banks, NC)
About the role
Kitty Hawk Kites has been teaching the world to fly since 1974. We operate in 7 states, with over 25 locations along the east coast. We are seeking an experienced, energetic Seasonal Assistant Retail Store Manager for our Duck location from April - September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Operate within the KHK Inc. core values, mission, and purpose statement
- Carefully select and train staff
- Maintain correct amount of staff during various seasons and holidays
- Attend appropriate company meetings
- Supervise staff
- Maintain the store’s clean, safe, and attractive environment
- Accurately prepare:
- Staff schedules
- Opening & closing reports
- Payroll reports
- Sales documentation and reports
- Marketing reports
- Budget projections
- Transfer forms and packing slips
- Maintain merchandising
- Check stock levels and ensure availability
- Deposit money daily
- Handle maintenance needs
- Assist buyers with feedback and current trends
Working Conditions
The work environment is typically indoor with moderate noise levels. About 1/3 of the time will be spent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. 1/3 to 2/3 of the time will be spent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. Lifting up to 25 lbs is required. Continuous computer work, cash register work, sales floor work, events work, and mail order work are also part of the job.
Physical Requirements
About 1/3 of one's time will be spent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. 1/3 to 2/3 of one's time will be spent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. Expect to lift up to 25 lbs. Other physical demands include continuous computer work, cash register work, sales floor work, events work, and mail order work.
