About the Role

Alterations Specialists are responsible for completing all fittings and alterations to the high standards of David’s Bridal and report to the Store Manager. They exemplify friendly, knowledgeable, and technical expertise while providing superior customer service and demonstrating the value and qualities of the David’s Bridal brand.

Responsibilities

• Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person; communicate clearly and concisely while adapting style to suit customers.
• Use all systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star customer experience.
• Maintain all service levels by being Prepared, Welcoming, Meeting the Needs, and Being There for customers, including completing operational checklist tasks.
• Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers simultaneously and contribute to store achievement of Five-Star Customer Service.
• Proactively address customer concerns with confidence; know when to escalate and partner with the leadership team.
• Communicate the importance of alterations in perfecting the dress for the customer’s event in partnership with the Alterations team.
• Promote all alteration services and personalization options.
• Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting with customers regarding gown fit and customization.
• Maintain store standards to support a flawless shopping experience.
• Comply with the Dress Code Policy and maintain a high standard of dress.
• Greet and escort all alterations customers to and from appointments.
• Maintain quality control guidelines and inspect all garments altered, steamed, or pressed to ensure pristine condition before final delivery.
• Respond promptly to all customer questions by providing product and service information.
• Build long-term relationships with customers to meet and exceed satisfaction and loyalty.
• Maintain inventory management by processing special orders, pick-ups, and ensuring first-quality standards for all merchandise.
• Ensure alteration pricing meets company standards.
• Manage all alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of garments to company standards.
• Resolve customer service issues swiftly and effectively in compliance with company guidelines.
• Support all cash wrap behaviors and process transactions accurately.
• Maintain a consistently clean and well-organized alterations room.
• Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by store management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent degree.
• 1-2 years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
• Prior sewing experience required, preferably in bridal and/or special occasion production environment.
• Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system is a plus.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time; reach for tools and objects with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; bend, twist, and stand.
• Manual dexterity to perform non-selling responsibilities, such as use of POS terminals, counting money, steaming garments, accessing computers, and receiving or initiating telephone calls.
• Manual dexterity to sew and perform fittings to David’s Bridal standards.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to see up close and at a distance, use peripheral vision and depth perception, and look at, read, and use a computer, electronic devices, and phones for long periods of time.

Pay

The starting rate of pay offered will vary based on factors including but not limited to position offered, location, training, and/or experience, and internal equity. The base pay range is $18-22.95/hr specific to the state this role is posted in.

Schedule

Minimal weekday hours required; weekend-only availability preferred.
