SEAFOOD/CLERK

About the Role

Prepare and display seafood items for sale in an efficient, sanitary, and artistic manner in accordance with company standards and policies. Perform customer service functions while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Wait on customers promptly and cheerfully, providing high-quality foods.
• Communicate effectively with customers and associates in a professional, tactful, calm, and courteous manner.
• Unload and store merchandise, then prepare and display foods according to company standards, recipes, and policies, ensuring compliance with Food Safety Policies, Health Department regulations, and proper signage.
• Perform required temperature monitoring and ensure product quality, freshness, and safety.
• Maintain clean and well-organized sales areas, backrooms, coolers, carts, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils following company and Health Department policies.
• Ensure proper product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise.
• Maintain equipment and facilities safely and in accordance with company policies.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, state, and federal laws.
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, if applicable.

Requirements

• Effective written and oral communication skills to engage customers and associates.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and present information professionally.
• Personal initiative and follow-through to completion.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer service related to merchandise sales.
• Ability to work with cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate production equipment.
• Maintain flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
• Experience in grocery retail, customer service, and food preparation is desired.
