SEAFOOD/CLERK

About the role

Prepare and display seafood items for sale in an efficient, sanitary, and artistic manner while adhering to company standards and policies. Perform customer service functions and uphold all company policies and procedures. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Wait on customers promptly and cheerfully, providing good quality foods.
• Unload and store merchandise; prepare and display foods according to company standards, recipes, and policies.
• Comply with Food Safety Policies, Procedures, and Health Department regulations.
• Perform required temperature monitoring to ensure product freshness and safety.
• Maintain sales areas, backrooms, and coolers in a clean and well-organized state.
• Keep carts, tools, equipment, and supplies in their designated areas.
• Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils per company and Health Department policies.
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise.
• Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable.

Requirements

• Effective written and oral communication skills to engage customers and associates.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multitask, set priorities, present information professionally, and work with all levels of the organization.
• Personal initiative and follow-through to completion.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in production, merchandising, and customer service related to merchandise sales.
• Ability to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate production equipment carefully.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
• Experience in grocery retail, customer service, and food preparation.
