SEA- Special Education Assistant
Position Overview:
Under direct teacher supervision, performs a variety of tasks assisting a teacher in the development of an instructional program by working with students individually or in small groups. Prepares instructional materials, maintains classroom discipline, and conducts planned activities using teacher designated methods and materials. Provides assistance for the physically and intellectually disabled, learning disabled, emotionally disturbed, etc.

Responsibilities
- Assists teachers in developing and implementing instructional plans
- Prepares instructional materials and resources
- Maintains classroom discipline and ensures a safe learning environment
- Works with students individually or in small groups to provide targeted instruction
- Provides support for students with physical and intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and emotional disturbances
Requirements
- Two years of college (minimum 72 credits in academic coursework), Associates Degree or higher, or pass the Highly Qualified exam
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
