About the role
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Fleet department and supporting the maintenance staff with technical advice and guidance. Plan vehicle maintenance and scheduling of servicing and emergency repairs to ensure company quality control standards are always met.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental activities at the station with an objective of reducing employee injuries, aircraft, and equipment damage
- Supervise daily operation of the shop
- Perform all responsibilities of a Fleet Mechanic
- Knowledge of safety procedures and company policies and procedures
- Communicate with Senior Management, Ramp staff, and Swissport Customers in a professional manner
- Liaison with Ramp management to coordinate repairs and servicing with minimal disruption to the day-to-day operation of Swissport customer(s)
- Review and modify Preventive Maintenance schedules on Swissport and customer contract vehicles
- Provide training or recommend training for GSE staff
- Assist with inventory and budgetary control(s), including ordering of parts for the GSE shop
- Assist mechanics in problem diagnostics and answer technical questions pertaining to equipment
- Ensure all staff follows all safety guidelines and procedures set out by Swissport and WCB
- Responsible for shop appearance and tracking service equipment maintenance and function
- Maintain EPA requirements as necessary
- Assure quality control on every piece of equipment that leaves the shop after work is performed
- Retain a motor vehicle driver’s license for both air side/non-air side in good standing at all times while employed with Swissport
- Knowledge of WHIMIS and ensure a copy is in place for the GSE shop
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 - 3 years' experience of GSE/Fleet Maintenance
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Valid driver's license
- Must have Clear ID
- Certification of completion in one of the following trades: Heavy duty/Commercial or Automotive mechanic license. Certification must be kept in good standing
- Knowledge of computer maintenance program, Maximo
- Good oral and verbal communication skills
- Willing to travel when necessary for training or to assist other Swissport stations with GSE needs as required
Pay
Up to $39.00/hour.
