Scrum Leader (contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Agile Ceremony Leadership: Facilitate core Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives to ensure effective pod execution and alignment to sprint goals.
• Scrum Leadership Across Pods: Support two infrastructure-focused pods, including an application pod and a monitoring pod, ensuring strong coordination, collaboration, and delivery consistency.
• Roadblock Removal & Escalation: Identify, remove, and escalate impediments impacting team progress, helping the pods stay focused on commitments and delivery outcomes.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead retrospectives, identify lessons learned, and implement continuous improvement actions to strengthen team effectiveness, delivery health, and collaboration.
• Agile Coaching & Team Enablement: Coach pod members and stakeholders on Agile principles, team behaviors, accountability, and best practices to support a high-performing team environment.
• Work Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate and traceable work management data in JIRA and related tools to support transparency, delivery tracking, and operational governance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Delivery Leads, and other stakeholders to align priorities, support delivery needs, and ensure strong communication across teams.
• Delivery Support & Focus: Protect the pods from distractions, maintain focus on sprint commitments, and support release readiness and adherence to delivery standards, governance, audit, and compliance requirements.
• Problem Solving & Thought Leadership: Bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset to team challenges, seeking answers, driving clarity, and helping the team move forward with urgency and confidence.
• Team Motivation & Culture Building: Foster a collaborative, respectful, and psychologically safe team environment by listening actively, encouraging knowledge sharing, and helping others grow.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent Scrum Lead experience, including experience stepping into an active team environment and driving Agile execution
• An infrastructure or technology background required, with enough familiarity to support infrastructure-focused teams effectively
• Strong knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum practices, and sprint lifecycle activities
• Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and guiding teams through delivery activities
• Proficiency with JIRA for work tracking, reporting, and sprint management
• Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to problem solve independently, seek answers proactively, and navigate ambiguity effectively
• Strong organizational skills, sense of urgency, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to motivate teams, build credibility quickly, and foster strong collaboration across stakeholders
• Strong servant leadership mindset with an emphasis on continuous improvement, accountability, and team success
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred
• Preferred Experience: Exposure to TargetProcess (TPro), Familiarity with infrastructure-related concepts such as resilience lifecycle and asset data, Experience supporting infrastructure, engineering, or technology delivery teams, Agile or Scrum certifications are nice to have, though equivalent practical experience is also valued, Experience using Agile metrics and delivery health indicators to improve flow and predictability, Experience working with stakeholders and navigating fast-paced team environments
