Scientist / Senior Scientist (Protein Biochemistry)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Automation Engineer to help us scale our foundry for protein engineering. The ideal candidate will design and implement end-to-end automated workcells, optimize and maintain efficient task scheduling, and collaborate with biology and machine learning/data teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end automated workcells for protein engineering
• Optimize and maintain efficient task scheduling and system orchestration
• Ensure smooth I/O integration with various lab equipment such as liquid handlers, robotic arms, and plate readers
• Collaborate with biology and machine learning/data teams to implement new protocols and assays
• Manage complex biological workflows within our data infrastructure

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
• Experience with laboratory automation and robotics
• Strong understanding of laboratory equipment and their integration
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar
• Experience with system orchestration and task scheduling
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Proven track record of successful project management
