About the role

Join the Platform & Screening Sciences team at an innovative early-stage biotechnology company. This role will advance a proprietary drug discovery platform through assay development, high-throughput screening, and hit validation in a highly collaborative environment where scientific contributions directly impact the discovery and advancement of novel therapeutics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise with the company's proprietary discovery platform and apply it to therapeutic target screening.
  • Design, optimize, and execute biochemical and biophysical assays to support hit identification, validation, and mechanism of action studies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve platform workflows, throughput, reproducibility, and data quality across discovery programs.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate experimental results to support rapid project progression and scientific decision-making.
  • Manage experimental data, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to efficient data integration and reporting.
  • Partner with external CROs by providing scientific oversight for assay development, execution, and quality control.
  • Present scientific findings and recommendations to project teams and senior leadership.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced research environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in a laboratory-based scientific discipline with 6+ years of industry experience, or a PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing and optimizing biochemical assays, including techniques such as TR-FRET and AlphaLISA.
  • Experience with biophysical assays, including SPR and/or BLI, for hit validation and characterization.
  • Background supporting high-throughput screening and early-stage drug discovery programs.
  • Experience with cell-based assay development and/or DNA-Encoded Library (DEL) screening is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, including PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, and gel electrophoresis.
  • Strong experimental design, data analysis, documentation, and scientific communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage priorities while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing or collaborating with CROs is preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced biotech environment with evolving priorities.
