About the role
We are seeking a Scientist to join our whole organ preservation team. You will apply your experience in perfusion, preservation, viability assessment and your passion for rapid protocol development to make successful large organ cryopreservation a reality. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with scientists and engineers across the company on a variety of methods inspired by first principles of biology, physics, and chemistry.
Responsibilities
- Perform pig and rat organ isolation and ex-vivo evaluation protocols, including perfusion and histology
- Protocol and assay development
- Work within scientific team to evaluate health of organs following cryopreservation
- Prepare equipment and supplies for experiments, including ordering and device maintenance
- Ensure accurate sample processing and on-time data reporting
Qualifications
- You have a graduate degree (Masters, PhD) in biology or other related field, or otherwise have significant experience (3 years) with independent scientific discovery in an industry setting
- You have demonstrated a passion for rapid problem solving and exploration of novel topics / protocols
- You desire to work in a laboratory setting
- You demonstrate agency, problem solving, passion for discovery, and a drive to push the boundaries of science through meaningful involvement in an ambitious project
