About the role

We are seeking a scientist to join our Investigative Sciences team to help advance our RNAi therapeutics platform by elucidating mechanisms of toxicity and de-risking siRNA ligand candidates through hypothesis-driven, translational investigations. This role will work closely with platform research scientists, DMPK and Bioanalytical Sciences (BA) colleagues to support novel ligand derisking efforts that ensure candidate selection and transition to early development. The position is onsite and primarily located in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute hypothesis-driven mechanistic in vitro studies to investigate toxicity findings.
  • Development and optimization of in-house in vitro models to support RNAi platform and novel ligand candidate derisking.
  • Work with external vendors on technology and assay evaluation, where appropriate.
  • Assess and implement new technologies to support/improve compound toxicity prediction & screening, with preference toward high-throughput or genomics platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with discovery scientists, toxicologists, and pathologists to deconvolute toxicology issues and ensure strategic investigative alignment for candidate selection.
  • Communicate study rationale, results, and recommendations through high-quality reports, presentations, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Maintain high standards of scientific rigor and data integrity.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in Immunology, Molecular Toxicology, Pharmacology, or related field; 1-3 years relevant experience in academia or industry is preferred.
  • Experience with microphysiological systems (i.e. organ-on-chip, organoids, or iPSC models) is desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in designing and conducting in vitro mechanistic studies.
  • Technical proficiency in standard cellular and molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience with high-content imaging and/or flow cytometry preferred.
  • Must be a highly motivated and organized individual with a team-oriented mentality and enjoy working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with modalities such as small molecules and biologics preferred.

Pay

U.S. Pay Range: $110,400.00 - $165,600.00. The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
