Scientist III (Stem cell-derived chronic kidney disease models)

Join a top-tier global pharma leader in Ridgefield, CT, driving cutting-edge drug discovery for chronic kidney disease. We are seeking an experienced Scientist III to design and execute innovative stem cell-derived and cell-based in vitro models in a collaborative, state-of-the-art laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, execute, and troubleshoot routine and non-routine cell-based in vitro and biochemical assays based on scientific literature.
• Perform aseptic mammalian tissue culture and molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, RT-PCR, Western Blot, and ELISA.
• Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while proposing new scientific experiments and technologies.
• Accurately analyze, interpret, and record experimental data in electronic lab notebooks according to standard regulations and SOPs.
• Draft scientific protocols, procedures, and technical reports, communicating findings effectively to project teams.
• Support routine operations with a flexible 2-4 hour weekend commitment.

Qualifications

• Required: Master's degree with 3+ years OR Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of scientific experience in biotech, pharma, or CRO settings (non-PhD candidates only).
• Hands-on expertise in aseptic mammalian tissue culture and core molecular biology assays (RT-PCR, ELISA, Western Blot, transfection).
• Demonstrated ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment independently.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills for reporting data and drafting protocols.
• Preferred: Experience with human pluripotent stem cell culture.
• Preferred: Proficiency in data analysis software such as GraphPad Prism and Excel.
