Position : Scientist II, Research & Development Location : San Jose, CA Duration : 12 Months Total Hours/week : 40.00 pay rate:$20-30/hr 1st Shift Client: Medical Device Company Job Category: Research & Development Level Of Experience: Mid-Level Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens or GC Holders) 3 Must Haves On The Resume Lab experience: Willingness to learn; working on instruments of some kind (Flow cytometry is a very good, nice to have) Education requirements: Bachelors with a few years lab experience Job Description Client is a world leader in bringing innovative diagnostic and research tools to life science researchers, clinical researchers, laboratory professionals and clinicians who are involved in basic research, drug discovery and development, biopharmaceutical production and disease management. The Client segment is focused on continually advancing the science and applications associated with cellular analysis.The successful candidate will play a key role within the R&D organization with responsibility for testing clinical reagents by flow cytometry for research and development purposes. The successful candidate will be expected to perform assays and tests following standard protocols and work on problems of diverse scope where critical analysis of data will be required. While the candidate will be part of a team contributing to the development of various clinical products, they will be expected to work relatively independently to determine best approaches to required solutions. Primary Responsibilities Perform testing of various reagents by established procedures on flow cytometry instruments.Provide support for flow cytometry operations for assay/result troubleshooting.Analyze and interpret data using FACSDiva, FCS Express or FACSuite softwares.Help prepare technical protocols, analyses, reports, and summaries.Maintain, record, and organize results accurately.Coordinate and establish effective working relationships and processes with other functional areas associated with R&D activities, including but not limited to Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Medical Affairs.Perform other related duties and assignments as required. Education And Experience Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the Life Sciences or related field with 5 years of experience.Ability to learn flow cytometry or have knowledge and familiarity with flow cytometry and the instruments and applications (immunology and cell-based assays).Must be able to use MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Must be able to multitask and operate efficiently within a diverse work environmentKnowledge of biostatistical methods and data analysis experience is desired.Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.Effective written and oral communication skills.Effective organization and planning skills.Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
