About the role

Join a leader in pharmaceutical manufacturing and contribute to the development, optimization, and validation of products, processes, and methods for Jubilant HollisterStier’s Allergy Business Unit (ABU). As a Scientist II, you will independently execute experiments, own small workstreams, and apply scientific judgment to improve methods and maintain data integrity with oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Complete studies and lab testing to enhance, qualify, and promote the quality of JHS’s allergen product line.
  • Analyze raw materials, in-process products, finished products, or investigational new products using established or alternative procedures.
  • Perform experiments to support product/process enhancements, innovations, or technical support.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and concise records of all work, including analytical results and data, following good documentation practices.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of laboratory equipment and processes, as well as the scientific principles behind methods and products.
  • Provide scientifically based input into study plans, technical documents, summary reports, and standard operating procedures for R&D projects.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory or processing equipment to ensure accuracy and performance.
  • Serve as an R&D representative on project teams to support ABU objectives.

  • Innovation & Problem Solving: Frame hypotheses, test incremental improvements, evaluate alternatives using data, and apply structured root-cause analysis.
  • Project Management: Own small workstreams, identify risks early, and escalate as needed.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with QA, Analytics, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Communication: Prepare concise summaries and visualizations of data.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Share technical knowledge and act as a peer resource to inform better practices.
  • Creativity: Propose experimental innovations across domains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or another scientific field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant laboratory and/or manufacturing experience in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical or FDA-regulated experience preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of scientific principles and ability to apply them in a laboratory setting.
  • Ability to utilize scientific literature and create clear, accurate, and logical written and oral reports.
  • Experience working in a team environment, exchanging information, and collaborating on projects.
  • Working knowledge of statistics, computer-assisted data processing, and cGMP is desirable.
  • Self-motivated with strong communication, human relations, and time-management skills.

Pay

Hiring wage: $80,169.00 – $106,100.00 annually, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.

Schedule

Full-time, on-site in Spokane, WA. Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
