About the role
The Scientist II, Process Development supports the development of protein purification processes within a dynamic, growing biopharmaceutical company committed to excellence and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Develop new or improved protein purification processes.
- Design, execute, and analyze studies with guidance from management.
- Stay current on developments in the field and make recommendations to management.
- Analyze project goals and criteria to ensure they are scientifically sound.
- Interface with departments such as Process Development, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality as appropriate.
- Demonstrate strong technical expertise and provide business-centered, innovative solutions to process improvement and development initiatives.
- Apply statistical analysis for data interpretation.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in biochemistry, chemical engineering, biophysics, biology, or a related discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of process development or protein purification experience.
- 4+ years of experience developing protein purification processes.
- Up to 5 years of experience in a GMP environment.
- Strong knowledge of protein biochemistry, especially immunoglobulin chemistry.
- Expertise in protein purification and process development scaling from bench to commercial manufacturing.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a GMP environment beyond the minimum requirement.
Schedule
The standard schedule is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but employees may frequently be required to work 12-hour rotating shifts during operational campaigns and manufacturing model runs.
