The Role
The Role: Our site in Burnet, TX is seeking a Scientist II, Production Analytical Chemist, to join our team. Come help analyze and characterize the materials that help design, deliver, and optimize some of the most critical semiconductor devices in the world. What You’ll Do
- Demonstrate leadership in maintaining safety and quality culture
- Prepare and conduct chemical and/or physical analyses as defined by existing work instructions on routine and non-routine samples using analytical instruments including: ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, IC, XRF, UV-Vis, NIR, KF, etc.
- Document, process, transfer, and review analytical data to ensure completion, conformity, traceability, and validity and support production and other internal/external customer needs; Take corrective action when necessary
- Maintain instrumentation, tools, chemicals, and consumables required for product testing purposes
- Effectively troubleshoot instruments and resolve any hardware or software issues
- Verify the efficacy of samples and ensure that all samples and chemicals are properly stored or disposed
- Propose/Lead/Support initiatives to foster continuous improvement of new or existing testing methods and practices
- Maintain housekeeping and proper Laboratory cleanliness to support high quality trace-level data
- Compile and present data and presentations to communicate data and other relevant information for continuous improvement, method development/validation, and other projects
- Work on cross-functional teams as the analytical subject matter expert
- Train other personnel to analyze samples or perform other laboratory tasks
What We Seek
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biology, or relevant area of study is required.
- 2+ years of experience in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining analytical instrumentation (LC, LC-MS, IC, IC-MS, GC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, ICP-OES), ICP-MS, trace metals, and cleanroom experience strongly preferred
- Advanced computer knowledge, including MS Office; LIMS experience preferred
- Knowledge and demonstration of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Proven record of completing lab work safely, correctly, efficiently, timely, and independently
- Expand upon personal job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, special project teams, and reading technical publications
- Ability to multi-task and balance independent, teamwork, and time effectively
- Proven dedication to meticulous attention to detail and organization
- Strong dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, and ability to safely perform routine repetitive motions
- Advanced mechanical inclination and experience operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment
Pay
Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week, Evening shift. Weekend availability is required as part of the rotating shift. Flexibility is essential to accommodate changing shift assignments
