About the role

We're seeking a Scientist, Biologics Research to join our Biologics Research team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Research, you'll work with a multidisciplinary team on groundbreaking biotherapeutics. Your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting discovery and development campaigns for next-generation biotherapies.
  • Leading biomolecular engineering, immunology, and pharmacology efforts.
  • Developing and validating high throughput screening platforms.
  • Designing and optimizing protein expression and purification strategies.
  • Creating and validating functional, immunological, and pharmacological assays.
  • Maintaining detailed records and presenting scientific results.

Responsibilities

  • Drive biomolecular engineering, immunology, and pharmacology efforts within Insmed research projects.
  • Develop and validate high throughput screening platforms for candidate selection.
  • Design and optimize protein expression and purification strategies.
  • Create and validate functional, immunological, and pharmacological assays.
  • Maintain accurate records and present scientific results.

Requirements

You must have a PhD in molecular and cellular biology, bioengineering, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, or a related field. You should have:

  • Deep technical understanding and hands-on experience with molecular and cellular biology, mammalian tissue culture, recombinant DNA technology, protein mutagenesis, and protein biochemistry.
  • Experience with recombinant protein expression and purification, and routine protein characterization methods like spectroscopy, SDS-PAGE, western blot, and ELISA.
  • Experience with enzyme analysis and characterization, and/or protein-protein binding analysis and characterization.
  • Experience with high throughput functional screen development for protein libraries, AAV viral vectors, gene editing, and in vivo (rodent).

Qualifications

You must have:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • A strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness.
  • A proven track record in methods development, including experimental design, execution, and evaluation.

Skills

Preferred skills include:

  • Experience with enzyme analysis and characterization.
  • Experience with protein-protein binding analysis and characterization.
  • Experience with high throughput functional screen development for protein libraries, AAV viral vectors, gene editing, and in vivo (rodent).

Pay

The pay range for this role is $127,000.00 - $165,500.00 annually.

Schedule

This role is based in our Lebanon, NH Research Development Lab and requires full-time, in-person presence.

Travel

Minimal travel is expected.
