Virals Vector Research Scientist
This position is located in South San Francisco, CA.
About the role
We are seeking a Viral Vector Research Scientist to support the production, characterization, and development of next-generation viral vectors for gene therapy research. This role will focus on end-to-end viral vector production, viral analytics, genome engineering, and technology development in a collaborative research environment.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
- Viral vector production, including Lentivirus and/or Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV)
- Molecular biology techniques including transient plasmid transfection, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR/dPCR, and Western blot
- Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing for in vitro and/or in vivo applications
- Viral vector analytics and characterization
- Digital laboratory documentation and electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN)
- Viral inventory management and laboratory informatics platforms
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Genetics, or a related life sciences discipline
- 3+ years of laboratory research experience
- 5-10 years of overall relevant experience preferred
