About the role
The Scientist II applies scientific principles to solve complex technical problems and support product development, validation activities, and technical service initiatives. This role involves planning, executing, and analyzing laboratory experiments related to the development of assays and reagents for biotechnology analyzers.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, analyze, and document laboratory experiments related to the development, optimization, and validation of new immunoassays and other assays.
- Implement assays on biotechnology analyzers and conduct verification and validation studies of assay and instrumentation performance.
- Troubleshoot experimental methods and instrumentation.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments and procedures.
- Recommend technical approaches that support project goals.
- Participate in project teams and contribute to milestone delivery.
- Support knowledge transfer and technical skill development within the team.
- Support partner teams including Production, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, and Marketing.
- Contribute to technical reports and presentations.
Requirements
- Typically requires 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Computer skills including Word, Excel, and laboratory statistical programs.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced product development environment.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to quality and detail.
Qualifications
- M.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or Biomedical Engineering with 1–5 years of industry experience, or
- B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or Biomedical Engineering with 5–10 years of industry experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work safely with chemicals and biological agents, including cell lines.
- Ability to use precise motor skills for repetitive laboratory tasks.

Pay
Targeted Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000/yr
