About the role
Conduct laboratory experiments for the development of pharmaceutical products, with a focus on sterile liquid dosage forms under the supervision and guidance of group members. The ideal candidate is eager to contribute to the team through continuous learning, has excellent proactive communication skills, and is willing to work with various team members to achieve team goals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical and characterization experiments to generate scientifically sound data supporting formulation and manufacturing process development efforts for liquid dosage forms.
- Design and interpret experiments independently as needed.
- Employ problem-solving and creative scientific skills.
- Work independently to generate accurate, reliable data and document it in electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Practice good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Participate in project and group meetings by presenting and discussing data and future steps.
- Conduct work activities in compliance with all company internal requirements and applicable regulatory requirements, including ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, and general business policies.
- Independently plan and execute lab-scale experiments related to sterile liquid formulation and manufacturing process development.
- Promptly and accurately document experiments, results, and conclusions to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Analyze and interpret technical data, utilizing statistical techniques as needed.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation to ensure operational capability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacy, or other relevant scientific discipline with 3–5 years of relevant industry experience OR Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacy, or other relevant scientific discipline with 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and statistical software; knowledge of fundamental application of statistics is preferred.
- Experience in analyzing data and writing technical reports is desired.
- Working knowledge and understanding of formulation and manufacturing process development for sterile liquid drug products, including solutions, emulsions, and suspensions.
- Experience with sterilization techniques for liquid drug products, such as filtration and autoclaving, is desired.
- Experience with analytical measurements and characterization techniques such as pH, osmolality, viscosity/rheology, turbidity, particle size, and physical appearance.
- Hands-on experience with HPLC and UPLC (with detectors such as UV, PDA, and RI) is desired.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
