Responsibilities

• Executes experiments of diverse complexity within a defined project framework.
• Selects methods and techniques for obtaining results within generally defined procedures and practices.
• Prepares protocols for experiments of moderate complexity under supervision.
• Prepares technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses of assigned research projects.
• Tabulates and analyzes experimental data for all phases of a project using statistical programs.
• Investigates and contributes to the development of new methods and technologies for project and process advancement.
• Develops working knowledge of current scientific literature and state-of-the-art technologies, theories, and principles in own area of scientific discipline.
• Makes recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment.
• Participates in Environmental, Health & Safety programs.
• Notifies supervisor and Safety Officer(s) of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in executing a defined research project or in process improvement or invention.
• Successful execution of a protocol-specified investigation of simple complexity.
• Practical knowledge of operation of laboratory instrumentation and applicable computer software.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to keep neat, accurate, and complete records and logs.
