Scientist-1

Description

Scientist-1 will be responsible for:

• Microbiology and Life-sciences related disciplines performing basic and applied research to provide innovative solutions for reducing hospital acquired infections and improving the quality of health care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of microbiology techniques relevant for testing efficacy of drug products and medical devices using standard scientific methods and techniques.
• Plans and executes projects supporting the Surgical and MDS projects.
• Utilizes current scientific/regulatory knowledge related to preclinical microbiological and biochemical testing of products under development.
• Generates and analyzes data to provide meaningful insights and makes data-driven recommendations to project and management teams.
• Identifies and communicates the implication of relevant scientific observations.
• Performs assigned microbiology tasks following the industry standards.
• Participates in experimental designs, answers scientific questions, and proactively identifies and proposes solutions to technical problems.
• Plays active role in creation of new SOPs, revision of SOPs and troubleshooting for microbiological investigations.
• Applies knowledge of microbiological techniques and good laboratory practices on daily basis.
• Affirms that all aspects of their assigned areas are secure and maintained in accordance to all applicable procedural requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

• Responsible for performing basic and applied research to provide innovative solutions for internal and customer funded projects.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of respective scientific discipline and standard scientific method and techniques.
• Under supervision applies scientific knowledge and skills within respective discipline to assigned work.
• Supports innovative process by performing literature and patent searches.
• Participates in brainstorming.
• Be responsive to customer requests and commitments within a reasonable timeframe.
• Ability to work with colleagues and multiple clients in a professional and organized manner, and interact effectively with a variety of people from different nationalities, ethnic/cultural backgrounds, and educational levels.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work with limited guidance and to manage projects in a timely and effective manner.
• Ability to reorganize and reschedule work on short notice in order to meet revised client deadlines.
• Should be able to define problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts, draw valid scientific conclusions, and propose solutions or corrective actions.
• Typically is a college / university graduate or has equivalent experience.
• Has basic knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in a job family or skill.
• Applies knowledge and skills to complete own work.
• Depends on others for instruction, guidance and direction.
• Develops competence in own area by performing routine work.
