Scientific Expert - Clinical Development
About the role
We're a new, venture-backed startup bringing scientific expertise to AI training data. We are starting a project evaluating the frontier of drug discovery and development capabilities for the world's leading AI models. Our work includes creating LifeSciBench with OpenAI as an example.
In this role, you will write challenging questions in your domain of expertise and clearly define correct answers. We aim to address gaps where chatbots fall short in providing accurate, domain-specific responses.
You have experience at the later stages of the drug development process. While we're modality agnostic, this specific role focuses on clinical experience—clinical development, regulatory, post-market surveillance, or Phase 1/2/3.
We value creativity, fresh ideas, and the ability to articulate opinions on interesting developments in your field.
Responsibilities
- Develop challenging, domain-specific questions for AI training data.
- Define clear, accurate answers to these questions.
- Contribute expertise in clinical drug development, regulatory affairs, or related areas.
- Collaborate with the team to refine and expand AI training datasets.
Requirements
- PhD in a field relevant to drug discovery or development.
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience in clinical development, regulatory affairs, post-market surveillance, or Phase 1/2/3.
- Ability to articulate opinions and generate fresh ideas in your domain.
- No AI, machine learning, or computer science experience required.

This is a contractor position requiring roughly 20 hours per week. If you want to work more, additional hours may be possible.
Benefits
- Fully remote work with no expectation to visit our San Francisco office (though you’re welcome to).
- Supportive environment with clear communication, quick responses, and close collaboration to ensure you have everything you need.
