Scientific Computing Engineer | Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Scientific Computing Expert to integrate AI coding agents into scientific computing workflows on a contract basis. This remote position offers flexible hours (10-40 hrs/week) with compensation ranging from $80 - $100/hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed examples of AI coding agents integrated into scientific computing workflows.
• Demonstrate and document AI agents in navigating large codebases, debugging, and feature implementation.
• Produce high-quality written narratives and verbal explanations of technical approaches and problem-solving strategies.
• Assess and describe the impact of AI agents on ambiguous requirements and architectural updates.
• Submit structured feedback on AI tools' strengths, limitations, and potential improvements in scientific computing.

Requirements

• Strong relevant experience in scientific computing and AI tool integration.
• Proficiency in using Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork for advanced tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to apply AI agents to large-scale engineering and research challenges.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for conveying intricate technical concepts.
• Experience providing structured feedback and thorough documentation for technical processes.

Pay
