About the role
New Haven teachers are offered a variety of leadership development opportunities including but not limited to curriculum facilitator, teacher facilitator and the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute.
Responsibilities
- Teach science to students in grades 7 and 8
- Engage in professional development opportunities provided by the New Haven Federation of Teachers
- Participate in the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain the certification requirements as established by Connecticut State Statutes, specifically Science Certification Grades 7-12 (034, 234, 033, 233)
- Must be able to engage in professional development opportunities and participate in the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Science Education preferred
- Experience teaching science at the middle school level
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to inspire and motivate students
- Effective classroom management skills
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices

Salary contingent on degree and years of experience, ranging from $53,220 to $108,047.
