About the role

This position involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program and meeting all legal and administrative requirements. Lessons must accommodate different learning styles and be presented in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines, Board of Trustees policies, and administrative regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Create and present lessons that reflect diverse student learning styles.
  • Establish efficient classroom management procedures and maintain high standards of pupil behavior.
  • Evaluate student progress and communicate findings to parents as necessary.
  • Teach within the prescribed course of study for the subject area at the appropriate grade level.
  • Plan lessons leading to subject area objectives and prepare detailed lesson plans for substitutes.
  • Utilize various teaching methods and media to engage students and optimize instructional time.
  • Assess pupil needs and collaborate with other professionals to address health, attitude, and learning issues.
  • Be available for counseling sessions with students and parents.
  • Interpret educational programs to the community through events like open houses and PTA meetings.
  • Coordinate the work of aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers.
  • Participate in the development of evaluation systems for self-assessment and improvement.
  • Keep accurate records and compile required reports and documents.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teacher certificate with required subject and subject level endorsements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions and perform routine tasks.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing educational landscape.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest developments in education.

Qualifications

  • Minimum salary: $68,000 (certified).
