Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a safe and conducive learning environment for individualized and small group instruction.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods as needed.
• Instructs students in principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters as specified.
• Encourages family involvement in education and ensures effective communication with students and caregivers.
• Safeguards student conduct and behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
• Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids, and equipment.
• Supervises students during school activities and coordinates with other professionals for curriculum evaluation.
• Administers standardized tests as part of the district's testing program.

Qualifications

• NYS Certification in Science - Biology.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline.
• Master's degree in related area preferred.
• Experience working with a diverse student population desired.
