Position Summary

We are looking for life-long learners passionate about shaping students' hearts and minds. Roles And Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
  • Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
  • Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
  • Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Required/Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role.
  • Certification is not required for general education.
  • All majors are welcome.

Required/Preferred Experience

  • US Work Authorization is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching science at the 7th and 8th grade level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain a positive school environment.

Skills

  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Ability to teach a variety of science subjects, including Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • Knowledge of the Great Hearts curriculum and materials.
  • Ability to foster a love for learning and intellectual curiosity in students.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience.
