About the role

The Bus Aide will help students board and depart from the bus, ensuring a safe environment for both students and the driver.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist students as needed, including helping them enter and exit the vehicle, using the vehicle's lap and shoulder belts, and safely securing them in car seats and booster seats.
• Maintain order among students by monitoring their behavior and providing appropriate guidance, feedback, and direction when necessary.
• Report unsafe and inappropriate student behavior to management and follow assigned corrective steps.
• Communicate effectively and clearly with students, parents, teachers, and Van Pool staff, using the Van Pool’s two-way radio system.
• Install car seats and booster seats with the physical capability to do so safely.
• Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors.
• Demonstrate a willingness to work effectively with school-age children with special needs.

Requirements

• Age 18+
• Pass a background check, CORI/SORI, and drug screen.
• Effectively communicate in English (spoken and written).

• $15.00 per hour
• Split Shifts: 5:30am-9:00am & 1:00pm-5:00pm (example only)
