School Theatre Artistic Staff

Responsibilities

• Run auditions and cast the show per established guidelines and procedures
• Prepare blocking, vocal arrangements, and choreography in advance of working with actors
• Plan and lead well-organized, productive, and enjoyable rehearsals that engage and challenge both experienced and beginning performers, provide for general skill-building, and meet weekly production goals
• Create and maintain a safe, supportive environment for learning and risk-taking, dealing with student behavioral challenges with fairness, firmness, consistency, and compassion
• Achie high-level performances that delight and impress audiences

Requirements

• Experience working with young performers of this particular age group and level of experience
• Success serving in similar roles in similar projects
• Reliability/dependability (including transportation)
• Personal warmth and ability to make each student feel “seen,” organization and efficiency
• Flexibility and resilience
• Colleagueship, generosity, and collaboration

Compensation

$25-$60 per hour depending on role and experience; part-time employee status.
