School Support Para Educator - Meadow Point Elementary School
Job Summary
The School Support Para Educator supports teachers and instructional para-educators with clerical and administrative tasks, including data entry, student testing, and support during classroom activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform basic clerical work such as data entry/typing, stapling, filing, duplicating, laminating, mail distribution, taking inventory, ordering office supplies, answering phones, taking messages, and office reception.
Support teachers and instructional para-educators with student testing and preparation of learning materials.
May monitor, manage, and assist students during classroom activities and student testing, recess, lunch, detention, in-house suspension, and before or after school.
Provide support to teachers and resource center technicians as needed.
Draft and distribute reports and/or formal communication to staff and/or parents.
Maintain program files, inventory, calendars, equipment maintenance, and repair schedules. May include budget tracking.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Reporting Relationships
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
No professional work experience required.
Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced interpersonal relations skills.
Advanced organizational skills.
Ability to work alone and with others.
Ability to perform data entry on a daily basis.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Medium work strength level (lifting or carrying 50 pounds).
Works both indoors and outdoors.
Typically a moderate noise level.
Work location is subject to change to meet the requirements of the organization.

Desired Qualifications
Formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other qualifications relevant to the position that are strongly preferred but not mandatory for a candidate to be considered.
Experience working in the public sector.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement.
Associate’s degree.
Administrative assistant/clerical, student supervision in an educational setting, or licensed teaching experience.
Experience working in a school district or educational setting.
Experience working with school age children.
CPR and First Aid certifications.
