About the Role

RCM HealthCare Travel is seeking a local contract School Speech Language Pathologist for a local contract job in Westland, Michigan. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting comprehensive speech-language evaluations for students referred by teachers, parents, and other educational staff. The SLP must demonstrate expertise in a range of areas, including assessment practices, instructional resources, and evidence-based intervention strategies to support diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations to assess communication disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication skills.
  • Interpret assessment results and develop clear, legally compliant written evaluation reports that include findings, eligibility recommendations, and educational implications.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and service delivery models to address student communication needs and support educational access.
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services in individual and group settings in accordance with IEP goals.
  • Serve as a resource and consultant to teachers, staff, and families regarding speech, language, and communication development and strategies for support.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices, research, and methodologies in speech-language pathology and related educational services.
  • Participate in Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and other school-based meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with general education and special education staff to support student progress across academic and social environments.
  • Participate in school committees, professional learning communities, and district initiatives to support student achievement and communication access.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.

Schedule

  • Shift: 8 hours, days
  • School Day Schedule
  • Hours per week: 35-37.5 hours per week
  • Contract length: 3 months

Requirements

  • Education: Master's Degree or Higher in Speech-language pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licenses & Certifications: A Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA); MI SLP License
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively use technology as a tool for planning and implementing instructional strategies.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively under time constraints.
  • Must be organized with the ability to multitask.
  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Must have excellent memory and ability to function well under stress.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and/or assistance.
  • Must demonstrate an extremely high regard for confidential and sensitive information.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility, common sense, and good judgment.
  • Must have the ability to keep abreast of information pertinent to the job.

Pay

Compensation Range: $60-65/hour
