About the role

Full-time School Social Worker position (8 hours a day for 185 contract days) at our St. Boni/East Union Education site for the 2026-2027 school year. Provide supervision and support for students in an alternative classroom setting. Deliver direct and indirect social work services as outlined in students' IEPs. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to offer mental health support, implement restorative practices, and help students build social skills, manage behavior, and address the impact of mental health on learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
  • Deliver direct and indirect social work services as outlined in students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to offer mental health support and implement restorative practices.
  • Help students build social skills, manage behavior, and address the impact of mental health on learning.
  • Provide direct social/emotional/mental health services, including individual and group sessions.
  • Engage families using family systems theory and conflict mediation skills.
  • Perform assessments for mental health and crisis situations.
  • Apply trauma-informed, student-centered practices.

Requirements

  • School Social Work License.
  • Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) and Restrictive Procedures (provided by the District).
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.
  • Knowledge and experience providing direct social work service to special education students as outlined in IEPs.
  • Family engagement skills and knowledge of family systems theory.
  • Conflict mediation and crisis management skills.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, student-centered practices.

Pay & Benefits

Pay range: $56,000–$103,000 based on education and experience.
