School Social Worker

Vassalboro Community School is searching for a dedicated, team-oriented School Social Worker.

About the role

Assist in fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environment through proactive, preventative practices in our Behavioral and Life Skills programs. Maintain accurate documentation and meet district, state, and federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support initiatives that promote positive student behavior
• Assist in the development and implementation of student support plans and IEP goals
• Provide crisis intervention and support when called upon
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, staff, families, and community providers
• Understand and be willing to learn Maine Care billing and provide Ed-Tech supervision (coaching) as required by Maine Care

Requirements

• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school personnel
• Experience providing evidence-based social-emotional and behavioral interventions
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed practices, and positive behavioral interventions

Pay

Salary based on teacher contract.
