School Social Worker
About the role
Crescent Academy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our team. The School Social Worker will provide comprehensive social work services to students, families, and staff in a school setting. They will work collaboratively with school personnel to identify and address social, emotional, and behavioral issues that impact student success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, a deep understanding of child development, and a passion for supporting the social, emotional, and academic success of students.
Crescent Academy is a school district serving over 500 students in grades PreK-12th. We believe in the whole child approach, assisting students and their families in improving outcomes by fostering a college-bound culture that emphasizes strong character, academic achievement, and civic engagement. Students from all cultural backgrounds and walks of life attend Crescent Academy.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct services to students, such as counseling, crisis intervention, and group work
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with school personnel to develop and implement programs that promote a positive school climate and student success
- Consult with teachers, parents, and community agencies to address student needs and concerns
- Provide support and education to families on issues including parenting skills, communication, and community resources
- Monitor and maintain accurate and timely records of services provided and student progress
- Participate in school-based teams and committees to address student needs and promote school-wide initiatives
- Stay current on best practices and trends in school social work and related fields
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
- Regular and predictable attendance
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure as a school social worker (Temporary or full approval as a social worker)
- Experience working with children and families in a school setting
- Knowledge of social, emotional, and behavioral issues that impact student success
- Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, families, and community agencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Willingness to provide services to more than one school district
