School Services - School Special Education Teacher - $50 per hour

Staff Today is seeking a School Special Education Teacher for a local contract position in Lakeville, Minnesota. Shift Details

• 8:50 AM – 3:20 PM
• 40 hours per week
• 8-hour shifts, days
• Duration: 45 weeks
• Specialty: Developmental Cognitive Delay (DCD)

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate lessons and activities to meet students' individual learning needs.
• Adapt general and specialized curriculum to meet the needs of students with developmental disabilities.
• Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Assess student achievement, learning, and progress through various methods.
• Maintain student records and reports in accordance with district and state regulations.
• Manage classroom behavior proactively and implement appropriate behavior management plans.
• Collaborate with students, families, other teachers, and support staff to ensure student success.
• Utilize technology, such as iPads, to individualize instruction.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be eligible for a Minnesota Special Education license in the area of Developmental Disabilities (K-12).
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities, with a focus on high school students for some roles.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of learning theories, curriculum development, and student assessment methods.
• Familiarity with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding special education.
• Proficiency in classroom and behavior management principles and practices.
• Ability to operate computers and applicable software.

Pay

Local Pay: $49.78/hour (W2)
