About the Role
Cross Country Education is seeking a School Special Education Teacher for a local contract position in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This role focuses on helping young learners build academic, social, and emotional skills through engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with kindergarten curriculum and learning objectives.
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons for kindergarten students.
- Develop lesson plans, assess student progress, and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes student learning, safety, and participation.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Valid Connecticut Teaching Certification.
- Non-certified candidates must have classroom teaching experience with kindergarten students, including lesson planning and classroom management.
- 1–2 years of kindergarten classroom teaching experience preferred.
Pay
Earn $40.00 - $41.20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, with weekly pay and opportunities for bonuses and incentives.
