Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a functional skills setting, implementing individualized strategies that support academic, behavioral, and life skills development.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including instructional goals, accommodations, progress monitoring, and required documentation.
  • Collaborate with families, multidisciplinary teams, and school staff to coordinate services and promote student success across educational settings.
  • Create a structured, inclusive classroom environment using evidence-based instructional practices and positive behavior support strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Active Tennessee teaching license with an appropriate Special Education endorsement (e.g., Special Education Comprehensive or Interventionist)
  • Experience supporting students with disabilities, including behavioral and/or emotional needs, preferred
