About the role

PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support special needs students at a new school in Chicago, IL. This role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive environment, creating inclusive and personalized educational plans that help students thrive academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• Accommodate, modify, and adapt lessons and curriculum to meet individual student needs and IEP goals.
• Support the facilitation of IEP meetings and development of IEPs.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to students' developmental levels and interests.
• Set and communicate clear expectations for classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and/or behavior modification techniques.
• Assist in the development and implementation of student behavior intervention plans.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 10-15 students, including writing IEPs, completing required documentation, progress monitoring, and attending IEP meetings.
• Teach 3 inclusion classes and 2 resource classes in one building.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or higher.
• Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Endorsements in Special Education (Learning Behavior Specialist I).

Pay

$42–60/hour, based on experience.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, days.
• Approximately 37.5 hours per week (to be discussed during interview).
• Assignment dates: ASAP through approximately May 28, 2027.
