Job Description

This is a contract, full time position as a Special Education Teacher (SPED) in a school setting. Requirements include: Master’s Degree in Special Education with appropriate NYS Teaching Certification, or Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or a related field, with graduate level coursework in Special Education with NYS Provisional Certification or Certificate of Qualification. The successful candidate will have the ability to push and pull students in wheelchairs, lift, bend, squat, turn in the knees, pivot and grasp with both hands (in order to properly and safely perform the techniques taught in CPR/First Aid, behavior intervention techniques, and lifting a carrying techniques), with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Schedule

40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, starting date: 08/13/2026, duration: 39 weeks.

Pay

The pay package is based on 8.0 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
