School Services - School Special Education Teacher - $1,693 per week

A travel position for a Special Education Teacher in Golden, Colorado, starting as soon as possible for a 13-week assignment with 37 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Accommodate, modify, and adapt lessons and curriculum to meet individual student needs and IEP goals.
• Support the facilitation of IEP meetings and development of the IEP.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to the developmental levels and interests of students.
• Set and communicate clear expectations for classroom behavior and school environment using positive reinforcement and/or behavior modification techniques.
• Assist in the development and implementation of student behavior intervention plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or higher.
• Valid Colorado teaching license with a Special Education Generalist endorsement.
• Understanding and ability to interpret educational assessments and prescriptive teaching.
• Experience with toileting needs, wheelchairs, seizure disorders, and other physical disabilities preferred.
• Experience working with students demonstrating complex, sometimes aggressive behaviors preferred.
• Training emphasis in all disabilities preferred.
