School Safety Liaison - Part-Time

Cambridge Lakes Charter School is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a School Safety Liaison. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of students, staff, and families during school dismissal by serving as a traffic director and/or crossing guard. Ideal for individuals dedicated to school safety and who enjoy working outdoors.

About the role

Reports to the assigned Principal.

Responsibilities

• Direct traffic to ensure a smooth and safe flow of vehicles during student dismissal.
• Assist students and families in safely crossing streets and navigating school grounds.
• Follow and enforce school traffic safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to maintain a safe environment.
• Report any safety concerns, traffic violations, or incidents to school administration.
• Remain vigilant and attentive to ensure student and pedestrian safety at all times.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or high-traffic situations.
• Prior experience in a similar role (such as crossing guard, security, or traffic control) is a plus but not required.

Working Conditions

• Requires standing for extended periods of time.
• Exposure to various weather conditions.

Pay

$16.00 per hour.

Schedule

• 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
• Excludes weekends, school holidays, and summer vacation.
