School Psychologist - Onsite - 26/27 School Year

Start Date: August 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year. Full-time position (37.5 hours/week) serving K-12 students in Anchorage, AK. Onsite only.

About the Role

The School Psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, collaborating with school teams to support academic achievement, social-emotional development, and positive behavior.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychoeducational assessments and evaluations to identify students' academic, cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral strengths and needs.
• Interpret assessment results and communicate findings clearly to students, families, teachers, and school staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and academic interventions based on assessment data.
• Provide counseling and psychotherapy services to students individually and in group settings to address social-emotional concerns, behavioral challenges, and mental health issues.
• Consult with teachers, parents, and school staff to provide strategies and interventions supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Conduct crisis intervention and support students and families in emergency situations, collaborating with school administrators and community resources as needed.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development activities related to school climate, positive behavior supports, social-emotional learning, and mental health promotion.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of psychological assessments, counseling sessions, consultation meetings, and other relevant documentation.

Requirements

• Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or certification as a School Psychologist in Alaska.
• Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in a school or educational setting (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of psychological assessment measures, testing procedures, and diagnostic criteria.
• Excellent understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, school staff, and related service providers.
• Proficiency in assessment, counseling, and intervention techniques.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly stand, walk, and move around various areas of the school facility.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents both verbally and in writing.
• Lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Physical stamina to supervise and engage with students throughout the school day.

Pay
