Responsibilities
- Runs social skills groups with the speech pathologists
- Runs small group counseling and individual counseling
- Completes evaluations (cognitive, functional behavior assessments, observations, or rating scales)
- Supports the case managers in scheduling and attending meetings as necessary
- Affords assistance to the assistant principal with building happenings when needed and may also be involved if there is peer conflict
- Participates in multidisciplinary meetings and contributes to student progress discussions
Requirements
- Master's degree in School Psychology or a related field
- R.I. School Psychology License
- Experience in conducting assessments and providing counseling in an educational setting
- Knowledge of special education laws and best practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Passion for helping students achieve their full potential
