Job Description
The successful candidate will provide psychological services to students with special educational needs within the East Central KS Special Education Cooperative. This position involves conducting assessments, developing individualized education plans, providing counseling, and collaborating with teachers and parents to support student success.
About the Role
This role is part of a cooperative effort among several school districts in East Central Kansas to provide comprehensive special education services. The psychologist will work closely with other professionals to ensure that all students receive appropriate support and interventions.
Responsibilities
- Conducting psychological evaluations and assessments
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Providing counseling and therapy sessions
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards
Requirements
- A doctoral degree in school psychology from an accredited institution
- Licensure as a school psychologist in the state of Kansas
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Knowledge of federal and state laws related to special education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of psychological theories and techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in using assessment tools and software
