School Psychologist
About the role
The School Psychologist(s) working for either Happiness House and/or CP Rochester, will work collaboratively with the Director of Evaluations and the Children's Program Director(s) to perform duties as described below. The School Psychologist will work to build rapport with the Preschool Staff so appropriate services are being provided by staff on site.
Responsibilities
- Imparts agency philosophy of Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential to children, families, program staff, and community resources.
- Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
- Provides consultations, in-service, and training to teachers, clinicians, and other staff members as needed.
- Consults with the classroom teachers and staff in the development and implementation of classroom interventions and behavior plans.
- Provides consultation and direct observation to all classrooms on a regular basis.
- Mets on a regular scheduled basis with classroom staff, including general education and special education teachers, to discuss students, behavior documentation/plans, and overall IEP goals.
- Designs behavior programs as needed for individual children.
- Oversees implementation of behavior management programs and behavioral philosophy throughout programs.
- Collaborates with agency specialists to support programming and educational needs of students and staff across agency sites.
- Provides support and consultation to parents as needed to address developmental milestones and behavioral strategies that may be applicable for the home environment.
- Supervises student interns and volunteers when appropriate.
- Mets regularly with Director of Evaluations and Children's Program Director(s) to discuss child, family, classroom, and department concerns, needs, and strengths.
- Completes initial assessments, re-evaluations, and other evaluations/assessments as required by agency guidelines and New York State regulations.
Requirements
- NYS Certification as School Psychologist
- Three years experience, preferably working with young children with developmental disabilities and their families.
- Experience in early childhood development and family intervention preferred.
- Knowledge of available community resources, including typical preschool programs.
- Valid NYS drivers license
Qualifications
- Master's degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current NYS certification as a School Psychologist.
- Experience in early childhood development and family intervention.

Pay
$55,300.00 - $69,200.00 per year. This position is eligible for a $6,000 signing bonus!
Schedule
This is a full-time/school year position (37.5 hours per week). Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:00pm. Evening work may be required as job duties demand. This position follows the school calendar with vacations coinciding with school breaks. Summer 6-week session is included in school year employment.
