About the role
District 161 is seeking a School Psychologist to join their Special Education team. The ideal candidate will provide consultation, screening, diagnostic, and related follow-up services for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Responsibilities
- Participate on general education intervention teams
- Consult with various individuals about the behavioral and instructional management of students with learning and social behavior difficulties
- Provide timely written reports and explain or interpret findings
- Work on a team to collectively make decisions for student success
Requirements
- Master's degree in school psychology or equivalent
- Completed 45 graduate hours in school psychology or related area
- Internship with no less than 500-clock supervised hours with school age persons
- Military status (if applicable)
- Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with a School Psychologist endorsement
Qualifications
- Experience working with students in Kindergarten through 8th grade
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Knowledge of special education rules and regulations
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in data analysis and report writing
